About me
I am an actress, filmmaker, and writer originally from the lively streets of Tiohtià:ke, Montreal, Canada. I cannot remember a time when I didn’t know that being an actress was what I wanted to devote my life to. I studied acting and theatre creation at Cegep Lionel-Groulx and acting at Concordia University’s Theatre School in order to pursue my highest passion. I am interested in strength, human connection, and courage when portraying a role on camera or in the theatre. I am passionate about revealing the strength behind the kind of bubbly femininity that is often overlooked as dumb, weak, or sexual easy. I believe that there is great power to be celebrated in feminity and that is what I strive to do everyday through my art.
My approach
Many people feel supported by a hug, a hand on the back or a kiss on the cheek. Some people seek for this sort of comfort in themselves, while other people seek it in others. I am fascinated by the latter. The way that humans strive to care and support each other is my fuel and the reason why I am an actress. I am dedicated to building community through my performances and my work, by practicing art that is concerned with empathy. I believe that film and theatre are the greatest exercises in empathy and it is through empathy that humans unite. My work examines the way humans come together to care for each other, the reasons why care is primordial in our society and who it is important to listen to in order to encourage and prioritize empathy.
Uplifting women’s voices, empowering women and illuminating women’s issues are some of the most important aspects of my art, which is also a way that humans come together to care for eachother. I use a feminist lense while also combining the techniques of biomechanics when building a character or creating theatre, because I am dedicated to being part of empowering feminist film and theatre where women are encouraged to take up space. As a woman, it is my primordial goal to create and be a part of meaningful art that takes care of other women, that hugs them, is that hand on their back or that kiss on their cheek.
